The DIY sump construction video that I posted is pretty useful in visualizing how the sump needs to fit together and some construction hints. The biggest consideration when constructing the sump that you have designed is to make sure that you don't have any construction materials which are toxic to your system. Mine was a simple installation using a 20 gallon aquarium, plexiglass and DAP aquarium safe silicone. When I bought the plexiglass I wasn't sure how I could cut it. It was too thick to simply score and break. For this, I decided to use a circular saw and a 180 tooth plastic cutting saw blade.
